Esperanza Spalding wins best new artist Grammy

LOS ANGELES Feb 13 (Reuters) - American singer/bassist Esperanza Spalding was the surprise winner of the Grammy for best new artist on Sunday, beating favored contenders Drake and Justin Bieber.

The nominees also included British bands Florence & the Machine and Mumford & Sons.
