Australia to unveil stock market competition detail Thursday

SYDNEY, March 2 (Reuters) - Australia's corporate watchdog said it plans to outline details of a timetable for the introduction of new competition in the nation's stock exchange market on Thursday.

"We are planning to make an announcement tomorrow," a spokeswoman for the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) said, declining to give further details.

Chi-X, a wholly-owned Australian-incorporated subsidiary of Chi-X Global Inc, wants to start operating in Australia which will end a two-decade monopoly for Australian bourse operator ASX Ltd . (Reporting by Michael Smith; Editing by Ed Davies)
