Hitachi says to sell HDD ops to Western Digital

TOKYO, March 7 (Reuters) - Hitachi Ltd (6501.T) said on Monday that it would sell its hard disk drive operations to Western Digital (WDC.N) for $3.5 billion in cash and $750 million in Western Digital stock.
