U.S. WCoast Products-Shutdown lifts gasoline
HOUSTON, March 7 (Reuters) - West Coast gasoline differentials jumped 2 cents on the shutdown of a hydrogen unit and a hydrotreater at a Los Angeles refinery on Monday, traders said.
March CARBOB gasoline in the Los Angeles market finished at 11 cents a gallon over April NYMEX RBOB gasoline, which was down 4.25 cents at $3.0039 per gallon. CARBOB in the San Francisco Bay market was discounted 2 cents to L.A.
Exxon Mobil Corp (XOM.N) shut a hydrogen unit and a
hydrotreater at its 149,500 barrel per day (bpd) Los
Angeles-area refinery in Torrance, California. The Torrance
refinery was drawing close to restarting several units
including a hydrocracker that have been shut at the refinery
for several weeks of overhaul when a power failure shut the
hydrogen unit and hydrotreater.
April CARBOB in L.A. was a penny higher after trading at 8 cents and 9 cents on top of May NYMEX RBOB.
March L.A. CARB diesel gained 1 cent at 14 cents on top of April NYMEX heating oil, which fell 2.36 cents to $3.0657. In the Bay, CARB diesel was a penny under L.A.
Ultra-low sulfur EPA-specification diesel was down 3 cents at 10 cents over April heating oil.
In the Portland, Oregon market, gasoline was down 3 cents at 6 cents under April NYMEX RBOB. Diesel rose 2 to a bid price of 12 cents over heating oil.
Jet fuel in Los Angeles was unchanged at 13 cents a gallon over NYMEX heating oil.
