Gaddafi forces made big strides: Wiilliam Burns
WASHINGTON |
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's forces have made big strides and are about 160 kilometers (100 miles) from the insurgent stronghold of Benghazi, Undersecretary of State William Burns said on Thursday.
"Gaddafi's forces have made significant strides on the ground," Burns told the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. "I believe they are only about 160 kilometers from Benghazi right now."
