MAZAR-I-SHARIF, Afghanistan, April 1 (Reuters)- At least eight foreign employees of the United Nations have been killed in the northern Afghan city of Mazar-i-Sharif after a demonstration in the city turned violent, a police spokesman for the northern part of the country said on Friday.

A United Nations spokesman confirmed that there had been deaths of personnel at the mission in Mazar-i-Sharif but declined to give further details. (Editing by Alan Raybould)
