BRUSSELS (Reuters) - The European Union eased sanctions on four entities, including two ports, in Ivory Coast on Friday following a request from presidential claimant Alassane Quattara.

"Under the measures adopted today, the ports of Abidjan and San Pedro, the Ivorian Refining Company and the Coffee and Cocoa Trade Management Committee are removed from the list of entities subject to the EU assets freeze," the EU said in a statement.

The European Commission said earlier on Friday it had received a request from Ouattara for action to end sanctions.
