WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Ratcheting up the rhetoric, Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid on Friday said Republicans want to shut down the government because they want to deny funding to women's health clinics.

"Republicans want to shut down the government because they think there's nothing more important than keeping women from getting cancer screenings. This is indefensible and everyone should be outraged," Reid said on the Senate floor.

A bunch of old men fighting over womens health. Kinda comical really. Any of these old guys ask any opinions from women since it, ya know, affects women?

@iflydaplanes – I don’t always agree with your comments but I like your insight on this story – Republicans should ask women what they think?

I’m a woman. To be honest, I find it a tad ridiculous from Reid that he believes one of the primary reasons the Republicans might want a government shut down is to prevent women from getting cancer screenings. All it sounds like to me is 2nd grade name calling and an attempt of Reid to gain female support.
