WASHINGTON, April 8 (Reuters) - A deal has been reached between President Barack Obama and congressional leaders on a budget plan for the rest of this fiscal year that would avert a government shutdown, a spokesman for Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said on Friday.

"We have a deal," Jon Summers said.

Republican Representative Darrell Issa told reporters the deal will contain a provision for audits of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. (Reporting by Richard Cowan, Andy Sullivan and Thomas Ferraro; editing by Philip Barbara)
