LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Lara Spencer is in search of new treasures - and a network hit.

Enter "It's Worth What," a summer reality series on NBC. The game show, which Spencer created and will executive produce, will tap into America's curiosity with cost and value. In what would seem an "Antiques Roadshow" meets "Price is Right," contestants are taken through a series of challenges where they're tasked with discerning the price of items of varying quality. Cedric the Entertainer will host.

Spencer told a room of reporters gathered at NBCU's summer press day that she's looking to recreate that fascination with discovery and value in big, broad network form. " tap into that cultural phenomenon with 'Antiques Roadshow' and then 'American Pickers' and 'Pawn Stars,'" she said. The latter two have been strong performers for top-rated History, and has spawned at least 10 pawn-themed spin-offs.

It's a fitting next act for Spencer, who hosted "Antiques Roadshow" from 2000 to 2002, before helping to launch syndicated entertainment show "The Insider." Come May, she will transition to a bigger stage as Good Morning America's lifestyle anchor.

As for Cedric's involvement, Spencer says it was an easy choice. "Look at him," she says, tilting her head to man whose diamond stud was glistening. "He's dapper, he's funny, he's hip and he's actually a massive consumer."
