Protective Announces Support for Storm Relief Efforts

Protective Life Corporation (NYSE: PL) announced today that it is committing $250,000 to aid people in Alabama affected by the storm systems that swept through Alabama on Wednesday. Protective indicated that the funds will be divided among the Salvation Army, the American Red Cross Tornado Disaster Relief Fund and local clean-up and aid initiatives involving Protective employee volunteers.

Protective also announced that its business operations were not disrupted by the storms and the company’s customer service representatives are standing by to provide enhanced levels of service to customers and distributors impacted by the storms. Johnny Johns, Protective’s CEO, stated “Clearly, this is an extraordinarily difficult time for the people of Central Alabama. Our hearts go out to the thousands of people who are dealing with the tragic aftermath of this terrible event, and we are ready to help and assist in any way we can.”
