IAEA says gets info on possible Iran military work
VIENNA |
VIENNA May 24 (Reuters) - The U.N. nuclear watchdog has received more information regarding allegations of possible military aspects to Iran's disputed nuclear programme, the agency said in a report.
The confidential report by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), obtained by Reuters on Tuesday, also said Iran's stockpile of low-enriched uranium had continued to grow, despite increased international sanctions pressure on Tehran.
The report's findings may provide additional arguments for the United States and its European allies in seeking to isolate the Islamic state over activities they suspect are aimed at developing a nuclear weapons capability. Iran denies the charge. (Reporting by Fredrik Dahl and Sylvia Westall; Editing by Louise Ireland)
