LDK strikes new module supply deal in Italy
LOS ANGELES |
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Chinese solar company LDK Solar Co Ltd (LDK.N) on Thursday said it will provide 45 megawatts of solar modules to an undisclosed Italian project developer beginning next month.
In a statement, LDK said the customer was "a leading Italy-based solar systems integrator."
LDK Chief Executive Xiaofeng Peng said the agreement "demonstrates our continued momentum in solar modules."
LDK products such as wafers and cells are used to build photovoltaic solar modules that turn sunlight into electricity. Recently, the company has benefited from expanding into making the industry's key raw material, polysilicon, as well as selling its own modules.
LDK shares rose 43 cents, or 7 percent, on Thursday to close at $6.61.
