Pentagon says impact of Lockheed attack "minimal"
WASHINGTON |
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The Defense Department said the impact on the Pentagon of a cyber attack on Lockheed Martin Corp had been "minimal" and it expected no harm to result.
"Impact to DoD is minimal and we don't expect any adverse effect," Lieutenant Colonel April Cunningham said in an emailed reply to Reuters. "As a matter of standing DoD policy, we do not comment on operational matters."

The DoD also said “we don’t expect any adverse effect.” Naturally, they don’t expect any “adverse effect,” because they know exactly what the “adverse effects” were and, therefore, they are not expecting anything; they are actually reacting to what happened and trying to preventing another successful attack like the one they just received.
The DoD didn’t mention the extent of the damage caused by the cyber attack. Nor was it mentioned what weakness in internet security its defense contractors had. If the DoD has these weakness in internet security just think how weak our financial institutions internet security is. Just pray tell who is going to be fired for not preventing the successful cyber attack against a DoD contractor?
