Brazil to lend up to $22 billion to cane sector by 2014

SAO PAULO (Reuters) - Brazil's state development bank, BNDES, will provide 30-35 billion reais ($18.9 billion-$22.1 billion) in loans to the country's vast sugarcane sector which produces ethanol biofuel as well as sugar, the bank's president, Luciano Coutinho said on Monday.
