Diamond rig to leave US to work for BP in Vietnam

HOUSTON, June 14 (Reuters) - A deepwater rig owned by Diamond Offshore Drilling Inc (DO.N) will leave the U.S. Gulf of Mexico later this year to work for BP Plc (BP.L) in Vietnam, Diamond said on Tuesday.

The Ocean Monarch, now working for Marathon Oil Corp (MRO.N) on a daily rate of more than $290,000, will earn more than $340,000 per day on a three-month contract in Vietnam with the British oil company starting in November, according to Diamond's fleet status report.
