WASHINGTON, June 14 (Reuters) - A proposal to end U.S. ethanol subsidies failed a key vote in the Senate on Tuesday.

The measure from Republican Senator Tom Coburn that would have ended the federal ethanol tax credit and the tariff on ethanol imports failed to gain the 60 votes necessary to move toward a final vote. (Reporting by Ayesha Rascoe)
