Japan ruling party mulls Y2 trln extra budget for quake-Jiji

June 15 (Reuters) - Japan's ruling party is looking at a new supplementary budget of around 2 trillion yen ($24.9 billion) for reconstruction after the March 11 earthquake, Jiji news agency quoted a senior lawmaker as saying.
Katsuya Okada, the secretary general of the ruling Democratic Party, made the comments to senior lawmakers from opposition parties that control the upper house of parliament, Jiji said.
Okada's remarks came a day after Prime Minister Naoto Kan ordered his cabinet ministers to compile a relatively small extra budget on top of 4 trillion yen one approved by parliament last month.
The government is aiming to submit the extra budget to parliament early in July. No additional bond issuance is planned. ($1 = 80.440 Japanese Yen) (Reporting by Tetsushi Kajimoto; Editing by Edwina Gibbs)
