NEW YORK, NY, Jun 22 (MARKET WIRE) --
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), a 62,000-member organization
dedicated to the health of children, today announced the introduction of
a new subscription model for unlimited institutional access to the rich
medical content that resides in the AAP eBook collection.
The new platform, www.aapebooks.com, provides libraries, medical schools,
hospitals and pediatric offices with instant electronic access to more
than 90 renowned AAP publications, including full-text, visuals, data
tables and clinical recommendations. The subscriptions are all-inclusive,
so users have unlimited 24/7 privileges to download any content from the
entire collection of AAP digital titles like "Pediatric Clinical Practice
Guidelines & Policies," "Bright Futures, Pediatric Nutrition Handbook,"
"Red Book Atlas," and "Caring For Your Baby And Young Child: Birth To Age
5" are part of the collection.
The AAP eBooks site was developed in partnership with Impelsys, a global
leader in providing electronic content delivery solutions, with the use
of the iPublishCentral software that is used by publishers and
professional associations worldwide.
"Our partnership with Impelsys has resulted in this eBooks platform that
brings complete electronic versions of our highly regarded pediatric
resources directly into the hands of the professionals and researchers
who can benefit from it the most," said Kim FitzSimmons, Sr. Manager of
Digital Content and Licensing of the AAP.
According to FitzSimmons, the AAP eBook Institutional Collection is
available based on a five-tier pricing model that corresponds with the
type of institutional customer (e.g., public library, hospital, medical
school, etc.). An institutional license starts at $3,500 per year.
"AAP's eBook collection represents a one-stop resource for updated
information about pediatric care solutions and concise, ready-to-use
expert clinical recommendations," said Sameer Shariff, chief executive
officer of Impelsys. "We are proud to partner with them in the
development of their digital publishing strategy and the creation of this
institutional subscription model."
