TOKYO, July 1 (Reuters) - Japanese copier and printer maker Ricoh will buy optical glass-maker Hoya's Pentax camera business, three sources with knowledge of the deal said on Friday.

The two companies may announce the agreement as soon as Friday, two of the sources said.

Hoya, which bought Pentax in 2007 mainly to gain access to its medical technology, had been widely expected to sell off the camera business. (Reporting by Mariko Katsumura, Kentaro Hamada and Emi Emoto; Writing by Isabel Reynolds; Editing by Edwina Gibbs)
