British soldier missing in Afghanistan found dead

LONDON, July 4 (Reuters) - A British soldier who went missing in southern Afghanistan, prompting an extensive search, has been found dead, Britain's Ministry of Defence said on Monday.

The defence ministry said the solder was from The Highlanders, 4th Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland.

It said the soldier had suffered gunshot wounds, but his exact cause of death was still to be established.
