New Android-powered device joins rapidly expanding tablet selection at Best Buy


MINNEAPOLIS, July 7, 2011 - Best Buy Co., Inc. (NYSE: BBY) today confirmed July 10 availability of the Thrive, Toshiba's first Android-powered tablet for the U.S. market, at and at all Best Buy and Best Buy Mobile standalone stores nationwide. The $479.99 Toshiba tablet joins a rapidly expanding tablet selection at Best Buy, which is re-designing both its in-store and online tablet presentation to enable customers to learn more about and easily compare new devices as they become available.


The Thrive is powered by the new Android(TM) 3.1, Honeycomb OS. It features 16GB of storage memory, NVIDIA® Tegra(TM) 2:1 GHz dual-core processor, front-facing 2MP HD webcam, rear-facing 5MP camera, 10.1-inch diagonal high-resolution (1280x800) multi-touch LED backlit widescreen display, allowing consumers to enjoy all their favorite media, plus a more complete web experience with fast browsing and hardware-accelerated support for Adobe® Flash(TM)-enabled content right out of the box. The Thrive is also available with 32GB of storage memory for $579.99.
