Speculators raise U.S. crude oil net longs-CFTC

NEW YORK, July 8 (Reuters) - Money managers raised their net-long U.S.
crude futures and options positions in the week to July 5, the Commodity
Futures Trading Commision said on Friday.

The speculator group upped its net long futures and options position in New
York by 12,343 to 165,491 during the period, an increase of 15 percent when
NYMEX front-month crude prices CLc1 rose from $92.89 a barrel to $96.89.

Money manager positions also rose in London in the ICE Exchange's
look-a-like U.S. crude contract, increasing by 3,754 to 17,343, a hike of 28
percent.
