Obama rejects any short-term deal on debt ceiling

WASHINGTON | Mon Jul 11, 2011 11:26am EDT

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama said on Monday that he would refuse to consider a short-term stop gap measure to raise the debt ceiling.

"We're going to resolve this and we're going to resolve this for a reasonable period of time." he told a White House press conference.
