TOKYO, July 13 (Reuters) - Japan's top government spokesman said on Wednesday rapid yen moves that do not reflect economic fundamentals are undesirable, and he was closely watching the currency's moves.

Chief Cabinet Secretary Yukio Edano was speaking at a regular news conference, after the dollar earlier briefly plunged below 79 yen for the first time since mid-March. The greenback was last trading around 79.40 yen . (Reporting by Tetsushi Kajimoto; Editing by Chris Gallagher)
