(Corrects to clarify that vacuum distillation unit was shut, not CDU)
TOKYO, July 19 (Reuters) - Japan's top oil refiner, JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corp, said it shut one of two vacuum distillation units at its 150,000 bpd Mizushima-A refinery on Monday after a fire.
The company shut the 60,000 bpd No.3 vacuum distillation unit after the fire, a company spokesman said. There was no impact to the operations of the other 17,000 bpd No.2 vacuum distillation unit.
The company kept on operating the 150,000 bpd No.3 crude distillation unit at the refinery, but it has lowered crude runs, a spokesman said.
The fire occurred at around 5 p.m. (0800 GMT) on Monday, and was extinguished by 10:52 p.m., the company said in a statement. There were no injuries.
The company is checking on the cause of the fire, and there was no schedule for the unit's restart, the spokesman added. (Reporting by Osamu Tsukimori)
