Canary Center at Stanford Adopts Syapse to Accelerate Early Cancer Detection Research

New App Helps Scientists Organize Research Results and Make Decisions More Efficiently

Syapse announced today that the Canary Center at Stanford for Cancer Early Detection has adopted Syapse's cloud-based, Biomedical Development Management (BDM) software to accelerate translational research aimed at earlier cancer detection using novel diagnostic systems.

"Syapse is becoming an integral part of our research programs," said Dr. Daniela Starcevic, Deputy Director, Canary Center at Stanford. "Syapse enables our researchers to easily organize and share scientific results. This facilitates collaboration across our multi-disciplinary research teams, and allows us to make more informed research decisions faster."

Canary Center at Stanford is using Syapse as the system of record for their research results. Scientists on these multi-disciplinary project teams can easily access and draw creative inferences from one another's work. Syapse enables project leaders and PI's to get immediate access to key results and make quicker assessments and decisions about the research plan.

"Syapse was designed to bring together disparate scientific information so researchers can make biology-driven decisions faster," said Jonathan Hirsch, Founder and President of Syapse. "We are honored to help enable Canary Center's research, which has the potential to aid physicians in detecting cancer early, at their most treatable stage."

About Canary Center at Stanford for Cancer Early Detection

The Canary Center at Stanford for Cancer Early Detection is a newly opened world-class facility dedicated to cancer early detection research programs. The mission of the center is to foster research leading to the development of blood tests and molecular imaging approaches to detect and localize early cancers. The Center was established through an alliance between the Canary Foundation, founded by Don Listwin, the Department of Radiology, and the School of Medicine. The center is directed by Dr. Sanjiv Sam Gambhir, Professor of Radiology & Bioengineering and Director of the Molecular Imaging Program at Stanford.
