Obama ready to work through weekend for debt fix
WASHINGTON |
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama said on Friday he was ready to work with top Democrats and Republicans through the weekend to get a debt ceiling accord.
In remarks at the White House, Obama said he was confident a solution could be reached despite the impasse that has raised the prospect of a U.S. credit rating downgrade and default.
Unless the $14.3 trillion debt ceiling is raised by Tuesday, the United States will lose its ability to borrow and start to run out of cash to pay its bills.

It was the repubs under bush who gave us the second almost great repub depression with their criminal pals on wall st and the big bank cronies.
BTW, for the most part the corporate empires are run by repubs.
EN3 is just another brainwashed victim of the disgraced faux news – murdoch empire. I do feel sorry for him. And even more so for the middle class Americans. Ps I am rich, but that was by a pure string of many things that led to being in the right place at the right time in the pc biz.
I’ve also worked part time retirement for defunct circuit city. “Where the mgt took tens of millions for their own pocket while driving the co bankrupt. And yes they suspported repubs, even wanted us employees to hand out repub propaganda.
The bottom line on that mess was they new the place was going out of biz in a couple years, so why not steal everything you can and get out while the gettings good.
the only time the place ran a proper biz was under the bankruptcy company during a month long court supervised liquidation of the inventory.
