House Republicans to meet Friday morning: Rep. Pence
WASHINGTON |
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - House Republicans will meet at 10 a.m. on Friday (1400 GMT) to assess their options after they delayed a vote on their debt-ceiling bill due to a lack of support, Representative Mike Pence said on Thursday.
Republican leaders have been unable to convince some of their rank-and-file members that this bill is their best option to win deep spending cuts and avert an August 2 default.

do what the voters told you to do when the Tea Party was voted into office last election!
cut spending!
We spent $1.17 trillion more than we had last year. The American people and the Tea Party they elected will not be satisfied with token cuts that do nothing to reduce REAL spending.
Stand up and explain to the American people the need for deep spending cuts and then do it.
You clowns bailed on cut cap and spend and THAT should have been you position and let the left who want to drive this country into the ground explain why borrowing more than we have until we’re bankrupt is a smarter idea.
You failed the American people when you abandoned cut cap and balance for a fake spending cut plan.
