Konica Minolta IJ Unveils New Textile Printer Models at ITMA 2011, the World's Largest International Textile and Garment Machinery Exhibition

Konica Minolta IJ Technologies, Inc., a manufacturer of inkjet printheads for industrial use, will be unveiling for the first time the Nassenger PRO 1000 and Nassenger PRO 60, two new models in its Nassenger series of inkjet textile printing systems. The new models will be debuted at ITMA 2011, an international textile and garment machinery exhibition to be held at Barcelona, Spain, from Thursday, September 22 through Thursday, September 29.

In recent years, the textile market has seen a move away from mass production by traditional screen printing systems and, instead, the emergence of digital inkjet printing systems. Digital inkjet printing systems are garnering attention because they make possible the kind of on-demand manufacturing driven by the need for diverse product types and production in small lots. This frees the supply chain of unwanted inventory and provides quick turnaround for the production of the stronger selling products.

To cater to this expanding market for digital printing, Konica Minolta IJ Technologies will be unveiling two new models of the new Nassenger series of inkjet textile printing systems that have been winning praise in the market: one model for high-volume production and for one low-volume production. These models provide total solutions for all inkjet production, from the production of samples to full-scale production.

Outlines of two models are as follows:

The Nassenger PRO 1000

As the premier model of the Nassenger series, the Nassenger PRO 100 features a more robust lineup of the kind of functions required for full-scale production.

1. The world’s fastest printing speed for a scan type inkjet printer: 1,000m2 per hour (according to Konica Minolta research)

2. Equipped with high-speed printheads that provide newly developed water-based high image quality

3. The first inkjet textile printing system to be able to accommodate nine colors of ink (according to Konica Minolta research)

4. High-capacity ink supply system (40L of each color)

5. Makes possible high-speed production that is consistent due to the newly developed nozzle sensor and floating-fabric sensors.

6. Equipped with a remote printer diagnostic function

The Nassenger PRO 60

As the popular model of the Nassenger series, for sample production and production in small lots.

1. Has sufficient functions and a printing speed of 60m2 per hour adequate for the production of samples and small lots

2. Equipped with nine high-density, wide printheads developed by Konica Minolta

3. A compact design that combines a textile winder, textile dryer, and textile unwinder into a single unit

4. The first inkjet textile printing system to be able to accommodate nine colors of ink (according to Konica Minolta research)

5. Can be used as a proofing device for the Nassenger PRO 1000

Compared to traditional screen printing systems, digital inkjet printing systems run on less power, reduce the use of water resources, create less waste, and produce far less CO2 emissions. In addition, Nassenger’s water-based textile inks are safe to use, having undergone all types of safety testing. Another feature of the high-performance ink is durability that holds up under repeated laundering and friction. The environmentally considerate printing technology of Konica Minolta inkjet printing systems are made use of in a diversity of apparel products the world over.
