Tue Aug 2, 2011 2:34pm EDT

Aug 3 (Reuters) - Canon Inc and Fujitsu Ltd will work together on a document management service, which would use multifunction printers and cloud computing to manage large volumes of data, the Nikkei business daily reported.

The cloud will help client firms to save costs, and they will be able to create forms online and print them out on multifunction printers, the Nikkei said.

The service, which will debut in Japan later this month, will be marketed globally by the two companies, and is expected to enter North America by the year-end, the paper said.

The partnership will boost utilization rate at Fujitsu's existing data centres, while its latest security technologies will help in safeguarding information, the Nikkei reported. (Reporting by Aman Shah in Bangalore)
