Dutch PM: does not like common euro bond, raising EFSF

THE HAGUE | Tue Aug 16, 2011 8:49am EDT

THE HAGUE Aug 16 (Reuters) - Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said on Tuesday he did not like proposed euro zone rescue measures such as a common euro zone bond or increasing the size of the European bailout fund EFSF.

"You have to be able to impose sanctions. That comes before all that speculation of euro bonds or increasing the EFSF," Rutte said.

"I am not a fan of all those instruments," Rutte said, referring to common euro zone bonds or increasing the EFSF.

Rutte added he was more in favour of first being able to impose more frequent and tougher sanctions on countries without transferring sovereignty to Brussels for countries that stick to fiscal regulations. (Reporting by Gilbert Kreijger; Editing by Sara Webb)
