Lebanon tribunal says enough evidence for Hariri trial
AMSTERDAM |
AMSTERDAM Aug 17 (Reuters) - The U.N.-backed Lebanon court ruled on Wednesday there is enough evidence for a trial over the killing of former prime minister Rafik al-Hariri.
The Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) in The Hague issued arrest warrants in June for four men wanted over the assassination, but the full indictment was not made public.
The four were identified by Lebanese officials as members of the Shi'ite group Hezbollah. Hezbollah has denied any role in the explosion in Beirut that killed Hariri and 21 others in February 2005. (Reporting by Aaron Gray-Block; Editing by Sara Webb)
