Reports that Bono was rushed to a Monaco hospital last week with chest pains and heart palpitations are false, a spokesperson for the singer said in a written statement on Monday.

Initial word was that the 51-year-old U2 frontman was hospitalized at the Princess Grace Memorial Hospital after a heart scare, but Bono's team is pouring cold water on those accounts.

"Bono has not suffered a recent health scare," the statement said. "Reports of being rushed to hospital for emergency treatment are untrue. Bono is in good health and enjoying a family holiday in the South of France. The sighting of the singer ‬at Princess Grace Hospital was due to a routine check up."

The singer was reportedly in Monaco after the band wrapped up their record-smashing 360 tour.
