On August 4, 2011, Aeropostale shocked the market by releasing a disappointing business update for Q2 2011. For the quarter, the Company’s reported sales of $468.2 million, a decrease of 5% from Q2 2010. Expected net earnings were also drastically reduced to a range of $0.02 - $0.03 per share from prior Company’s guidance of $0.11 - $0.16 per share. In response to Aeropostale’s announcement, the Company’s stock price plummeted 24%.
