BP reports process upset at Whiting, IN, refinery

(Reuters) - BP reported a process upset at its 405,000 barrel-per-day refinery in Whiting, Indiana, on Sunday, according to a filing with regulators.

The incident caused a release of sulfur dioxide at the facility, the filing said.

The facility was flaring and the quantities of materials released were not known, the filing added. (Reporting by Koustav Samanta in Bangalore)
