Meb Keflezighi Achieves New Personal Best at 2011 ING New York City Marathon Wearing SKECHERS GOrun Racing Footwear

SKECHERS USA, Inc. (NYSE:SKX) announced that elite runner and Olympic silver medalist Meb Keflezighi achieved a new personal best time of 2:09:13 and was the fastest American at the 2011 ING New York City Marathon today. Wearing SKECHERS GOrun racing footwear, Meb surpassed his 2009 New York Marathon winning time of 2:09:15.

"It felt amazing to beat my previous personal best and 2009 winning time. It was an extremely challenging race with very fast and intense competition, and I am pleased with my achievement," began Keflezighi, who at 36, was the fastest American on the course and came in 6th place overall. "I felt strong going into it, training at high altitudes in my SKECHERS GOrun racing shoes, which definitely made a positive impact on my running. I've been a heel strike runner my entire life, but SKECHERS’ mid-foot strike technology has helped me adjust my stride to be more efficient.”

SKECHERS GOrun is an innovative new minimalistic lightweight running line featuring revolutionary mid-foot strike technology and GOimpulse sensors for enhanced sensory feedback. Meb has provided SKECHERS with expert insight by testing and consulting on the design of SKECHERS GOrun as well as other high-performance product currently in development.

“We congratulate Meb on an exceptional performance in New York today. It’s thrilling to see a world-class athlete like Meb improving his race wearing SKECHERS performance footwear," said SKECHERS president Michael Greenberg. "With the launch of SKECHERS GOrun this month, runners of all levels located around the United States can now train and compete in our new minimalistic, extremely flexible, responsive, lightweight footwear."

The launch will be backed by an extensive multimedia campaign including television, print, outdoor, online, in-store, as well as a 2012 Super Bowl campaign. Meb will also compete in the Olympic Trials wearing SKECHERS GOrun.
