Law Offices of Howard G. Smith Announces Investigation of Janus Capital Group Inc.

Law Offices of Howard G. Smith announces that it is investigating potential claims against Janus Capital Group Inc. (“Janus” or the “Company”) (NYSE:JNS) and its Board of Directors related to the Company’s executive compensation package for its CEO and other executives.

The investigation concerns whether the Company’s Board of Directors breached their fiduciary duties by awarding excessive compensation to Janus’ executive officers despite approximately 60 percent of the Company’s shareholders rejecting the Board’s recommendation that shareholders vote in favor of the proposed 2010 compensation at the Company’s annual shareholder meeting on April 28, 2011. The 2010 executive compensation packages rejected by the shareholders awarded the Company’s executives approximately $41 million, although during 2010 the Company’s stock price declined approximately 7%, lagging nearly 16% behind the Dow Jones Industrial Average, and is down more than 50% from 2009.

If you are a shareholder of Janus who voted against the 2010 executive compensation packages, if you have information or would like to learn more about these claims, or if you wish to discuss these matters or have any questions concerning this announcement or your rights or interests with respect to these matters, please contact Howard G.
