Microchip Again Wins Alfred P. Sloan Award for Workplace Flexibility
For Fifth Consecutive Year, Company Receives National Recognition for Business Practices
Microchip Technology Inc. (NASDAQ: MCHP), a leading provider of microcontroller, analog and Flash-IP solutions, today announced it has won the Alfred P. Sloan Award for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility for the fifth consecutive year. The award distinguishes Microchip as one of the top practitioners of workplace flexibility in the nation.
The Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility are part of When Work Works, a national project to educate the business community on the value of workplace effectiveness and flexibility. The awards are unique for their rigorous, two-step selection process, which involves an evaluation of employers’ flexibility programs and practices, and a confidential employee survey. Winners of this prestigious award not only offer excellent workplace flexibility policies and practices, but they also use flexibility as a strategic business tool to benefit the business and its employees.
“Employees are our greatest strength,” said Lauren Carr, vice president of Global Human Resources for Microchip. “In order to attract and retain the best talent, we provide a work environment that promotes flexibility, which we believe naturally leads to teamwork, creativity and pride in work. The Company benefits from productive employees who take ownership of their jobs; and the employees benefit from being able to enjoy their personal lives.”
Steve Sanghi, Microchip’s president and CEO, said, “Microchip is honored to receive this award for the fifth year in a row. Our workplace culture is specifically designed and cultivated. It is not by accident that we achieve these great results—we achieve them by aligning, integrating and uniting all elements of the enterprise that influence employee performance.”
