TeleCommunication Systems Receives $11.4 Million in Funding From U.S. Army for SNAP Deployable Satellite Systems Field

ANNAPOLIS, MD, Nov 17 (MARKET WIRE) -- TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS), a world leader in highly reliable and secure mobile communication technology, today announced that it has received notice of an additional $11.4 million in funding from the U.S. Army for field services support of Secret Internet Protocol Router and Non-secure Internet Protocol Router Access Point (SNAP) Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) satellite systems. This additional funding will enable TCS to provide support for its highly reliable SNAP deployable communications products. The U.S. Army Project Manager for the Warfighter Information Network - Tactical (PM WIN-T) Commercial Satellite Terminal Program is funding these procurements through the Army's $5 billion World-Wide Satellite Systems (WWSS) contract vehicle, which has been extended to July 27, 2012 with all deliveries required to be completed by August 28, 2012.
