TD Ameritrade Institutional1 will host advisors and industry thought leaders for its 16th annual conference February 1 – 4, 2012 in Orlando, Fla. at the Marriott World Center.
“During these challenging economic times, advisors need to stay on the cutting-edge of technology and practice management to deliver the high level of service and expertise today’s investors demand,” said Tom Bradley, president, TD Ameritrade Institutional. “The 2012 National Conference is the place where advisors have the opportunity to hear from highly sought-after speakers, network with their peers and get a first look at some of latest tools and solutions to help them run more efficient and effective practices.”
The 2012 National Conference stage will bring together registered investment advisors (RIAs) from around the country to experience in-depth breakout sessions on topics including practice management, operational efficiency, business development, investment solutions, risk management and advocacy efforts. TD Ameritrade Institutional’s 2012 National Conference will give advisors access to political leaders and some of the industry’s leading experts including:
- Fred Tomczyk, president and chief executive officer, TD Ameritrade, and Tom Bradley, president, TD Ameritrade Institutional, will offer their perspective of the financial services industry and expectations of the industry in the upcoming months.
- The Honorable Dick Cheney, 46th Vice President of the United States, will offer a sweeping picture and unprecedented insider’s view of some of the most debated issues during his tenure, as well as insight on the current political landscape.
- The Honorable Dr. Robert Gates, former United States Secretary of Defense, will discuss his role as a trusted advisor to eight U.S. presidents, driving global politics and U.S. foreign policies over the past four and a half decades.
- As the 19th Chairman of the FDIC, Sheila Bair was responsible for the safekeeping of some $6 trillion in insured bank deposits at the height of the Great Recession. Given her integral involvement in safeguarding the financial system during one of the world’s worst financial crises, Chairman Bair has unique insights on how that crisis and ensuing reforms promise to change the financial landscape.
- Craig Alexander, senior vice president and chief economist of TD Bank, will discuss the economic and financial outlook for 2012 and beyond. This session will also include a review of economic developments in Europe and its fiscal crisis as well as a detailed discussion about the path of the North American economy.
