EBX Group and IMG Worldwide Acquire Brasil1 to Launch Its IMX Joint Venture
With the Acquisition of Brasil1 the IMX Sports & Entertainment Portfolio Includes Projects Like UFC, Volvo Ocean Race, LPGA Brazil Cup, Among Others; IMX Will Work With Sports, Entertainment and Venues
NEW YORK, NY and RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL--(Marketwire - December 9, 2011) - EBX Group and IMG Worldwide have launched their IMX joint-venture with the acquisition of Brasil1 Sports & Entertainment, an agency identified by the synergy with the new company's goal to work in the sports, entertainment and arena management areas. IMX begins operations with a portfolio of events including Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Volvo Ocean Race (Itajaí Stopover), LPGA Brazil Cup, Footvolley 4x4 World Championship, and Megaramp, among others.
Founded in November 2011, IMX is a 50/50 joint venture between EBX Group and IMG Worldwide, with the goal of becoming one of the main sports, entertainment and arena companies of Brazil, with headquarters in Rio de Janeiro. The initiative also represents the expansion in Brazil of IMG Worldwide, a global sports, fashion and media business with over 3,000 employees operating in 30 countries around the globe.

In the Sports sector, IMX will work on creating and producing events, consulting and talent management. In the area of venues the company will be involved in construction, management and operation of stadiums, arenas and convention centers. In addition, IMX will work in the entertainment area, focusing on live shows and performing arts.
At the press conference today in Rio de Janiero, the company also announced that Alan Adler, business executive, sailing athlete and one of the people responsible for the Brazilian Boat Brasil1, from the Volvo Ocean Race, among other projects, has been named Chief Executive Officer of IMX. Adler was the CEO of Brasil1 Sports & Entertainment.
