Operation Homefront Illinois is presenting a traditional Christmas Dinner to the families who are staying at Fisher House at Hines VA Hospital. Fisher House is "a home away from home" for families of patients receiving medical care at major military and VA medical centers. Fisher House at Hines opened in May of 2010 and serves families of both current members of the military and veterans. The families are staying at Fisher House while the military member or veteran is undergoing treatment at Hines VA Hospital.

Operation Homefront Illinois would like to thank Oasis Legal Finance for their generous donation that made this dinner possible. In addition to the dinner, Oasis is providing a gift basket for each of the families that are staying at Fisher House.

About Fisher House:
The Fisher House offers a supportive and caring environment which encourages and nurtures Veterans and their families; enabling them to focus on daily progress and eventual recovery of their loved one. Families are able to bond and empathize with others experiencing similar situations.

The Fisher House program is supported through a unique private-public partnership that supports America's military in their time of need. The program recognizes the special sacrifices of our men and women in uniform and the hardships of military service by meeting a humanitarian need beyond that normally provided by the Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs. The home enables family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful time; during the hospitalization for an unexpected illness, disease, or injury.
