MEDHOST Attains No. 1 “Best in KLAS” Ranking in Emergency Department Market Segment
MEDHOST’s easy-to-use EDIS ranks highest in “Needed Functionality” compared to other ED software
MEDHOST today announced that it tied for the No. 1 ranking in the Emergency Department (ED) segment of the 2011 Best in KLAS Awards: Software & Services report. In addition, MEDHOST scored higher than any other ED solution in terms of product functionality, with more than 80 percent of surveyed MEDHOST customers saying that the MEDHOST Emergency Department Information System (EDIS) functionality meets their needs. Functionality and features most often praised by MEDHOST customers include, touch screen navigation, complete clinical charting and clinician order entry, real-time patient tracking, robust charge capture, customization features, and comprehensive reporting capabilities.
The ease of use of MEDHOST’s EDIS and the company’s comprehensive customer support also contributed to the top ranking, which is based on performance feedback that KLAS collects from healthcare executives, managers and clinicians.
“We deliver easy-to-use solutions that not only align with clinical workflow, but also provide flexibility in the form of customization tools so that unique departmental or clinician requirements are met,” said Craig Herrod, president of MEDHOST. “Software benefits can’t be realized without user adoption, and because the MEDHOST EDIS provides a positive user experience, our customers have a high rate of compliance and thus are able to transform how their EDs operate.”
The No. 1 Best in KLAS ranking comes after MEDHOST experienced another record sales year, which included adding more than 100 new customers and a three-fold increase in new customer go-lives compared to 2010. In addition, the company has added more than 50 new associates to further boost development, as well as support its rapidly growing customer base.
“This recognition is especially rewarding because it is based on customers’ real-world experience with our EDIS and our customer support,” said Herrod. “What we are most proud of is that we achieved our top KLAS ranking after having back-to-back years of our highest growth and most implementations ever.”
The annual KLAS report ranks the best-performing healthcare IT vendors in more than 100 market segments based on ratings from over 18,000 interviews with healthcare providers.
“Since 1998, KLAS has been committed to helping healthcare providers make decisions based on candid peer feedback,” says Adam Gale, KLAS president. “Best in KLAS rankings mark those vendors who best keep their promises in their market segments for offering a combination of superior products, strong service, and high customer value. We hope these ratings continue to help providers find transparency from their vendors in making purchasing decisions.”
