The La Barben projects : signature of a codicil to the pre-lease agreement, and receipt of a provisional order for suspension
The La Barben commune, located in the Bouches-du-Rhône region of France, signed an amendment to the commitment to lease it entered into with VOLTALIA in connection with eight planned photovoltaic solar-energy farms representing 12MW each.
The amendment was necessary in order to pursue these projects following the "photovoltaic moratorium" (French decree of 9 December 2010) that put an end to the existing preferential rate. This amendment is one of the many prerequisites necessary but not sufficient for these projects to be implemented.
Indeed, a request for summary suspension was received on Friday, 13 January, from three associations threatening the definitive delivery of the construction permits.
VOLTALIA has been developing these eight projects on its own behalf and on behalf of its partners. The site is currently in the process of being cleared.
Due to its long-term cooperation with the La Barben commune, VOLTALIA is continuing to promote these projects despite the great risks in terms of feasibility and the fact that the projects' profitability has been seriously affected by the "photovoltaic moratorium."
