New Book “Rigby: A Grand Tradition” Launched by JOHN RIGBY & CO.®

Author Book Signings at 2012 Safari Club International Convention

Rigby’s story is the story of colonial safari adventure, of the world’s most famous big game hunters and their rifles. In the new book "Rigby: A Grand Tradition," authors Silvio Calabi, Steve Helsley, and Roger Sanger bring Rigby owners Jim Corbett, W.D.M. Bell, Field Marshal Mannerheim, the Maharana of Udaipur, and others to life in rich detail. Extensively illustrated and including a thorough treatment of the development of the technology behind Rigby rifles and ammunition, this new book provides substantial insight into the people, adventures, and rifles behind big game hunting in the early 20th century.

To be launched at the 2012 Safari Club International Convention February 1-4, 2012, “Rigby: A Grand Tradition” combines the eye appeal of a coffee-table hardback with the attention to detail of a scholarly history. The authors combed the Rigby ledgers (more than 80 books), British patent and military archives, and a huge bibliography of earlier writings. The resulting new book is the most wide-ranging picture yet of the exceptional history of John Rigby & Co. The extensive photos and captions alone would make a notable book. Author Steve Helsley is available for signings at the John Rigby & Co. booth at the Safari Club International show on February 2nd and 3rd.

Hardbound, 210 pages with 240 illustrations; $45.
