Banca Transilvania 2011 net profit up 35 pct

BUCHAREST Feb 1 (Reuters) - Romanian lender Banca Transilvania reported a 35 percent rise in 2011 net profit to 131.9 million lei ($40 million) on Wednesday.

That compared with a forecast for 143.6 million lei in a Reuters poll.

The bank also said provisions stood at 531.8 million lei in 2011, down from 640 million lei the year before. ($1 = 3.3190 Romanian lei) (Reporting by Ioana Patran; Editing by Dan Lalor)
