CAIRO (Reuters) - Two Iranian naval ships returned from Syria through the Suez Canal Tuesday, a Suez Canal source said.

The ships entered the canal from the Mediterranean Sea early in the morning, heading south toward the Red Sea, and were expected to leave the canal Tuesday afternoon, the source said.

The ships had docked at the Syrian port of Tartous, in a show of support for Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, a regional ally of Iran.

Let’s hope that the Iranians did not supply Assad with missiles that could be used against his own people and Israel.

When the southern states of America attempted to secede and become independent, President Abraham Lincoln launched a massive attack against them, his own people. Yes, one might say he murdered his own people massively.

Throughout the history of mankind, when a group of people rebels against central authority, the central authority uses whatever means at its disposal to put down the rebellion.

Lincoln’s troop attacks on the south resulted in roughly 400,000 Americans killed there. There are numerous mass graves spread across the eastern United States containing the bodies.

Right now, in the history unfolding in Syria, a portion of the Syrian population, mainly Sunni Moslems, have arisen in rebellion, starting a few months ago, against the current regime, which happens to be mainly Shia Moslems.

The rebels have gradually stepped up their attacks, often attacking police departments with concentrated firepower.

The Iranians and the Chinese are sticking by the legal Syrian government. Many people in Israel or America are siding with the rebels, for no real reason, even though the rebels (mostly Sunni Moslem) have received support from Al Quaida (also Sunni).

In America, many people simply like to see war and instability, for any reason. Thus the true complex situation there is rarely discussed in the news media. Instead, like children, the American Republicans, like Senator McCain, and the masses of Israel, like to paint it over-simplified as good vs. evil.

When in fact there are good people on both sides. It’s a sad situation. Nothing good can come from it.

The igorant masses in Israel think that if the nations of the Middle East go up in smoke then they will be more secure. In fact, the opposite is true.

In a show of support to Assad? Iran had earlier said it was a visit planned over a year ago.

I think its more like, Russian ships dropped off a delivery and Iran picked it up.
