SEOUL (Reuters) - Flat screen maker LG Display Co Ltd is supplying touch-screen panels for Apple Inc's new iPad, a source close to the matter said on Wednesday.

Bloomberg reported earlier that Samsung Electronics Co Ltd was the sole supplier for the new iPad, launched last week, after LG and Japan's Sharp Corp failed to meet the U.S. company's quality requirements, quoting an analyst from research firm iSuppli.

"LG is also in a panel supply deal with Samsung for the new iPad," the source said.

The source was not authorized to speak to the media and declined to be identified.

I’m so confused. First I read Samsung is providing apple with them, then I see another story saying Sharp’s panels are delayed for Apple, and now I see this third story about LG. Can we just say that everyone is making the screens for the Apple because everybody is a sheep apparently and has to have the ipad? lol.

I think there’s some other options out there for tablets, and cheaper. just sayin’

Thanks ‘MakeChange’ — I hadn’t realised that there are these so-called ‘other options out there’ — the farmer tends to keep us sheep in the paddock most of the time, and our opportunities for comparing technology product lines in retail outlets is quite limited — sometimes the farmer lets us out to do work, and some of the sheep in my flock are journalists, politicians, designers, artists, writers, film-makers, engineers, teachers, doctors, dentists, academics (lots of academics), et cetera, but we all just eat grass.
