Support.com Releases Cosmos(TM), an All-in-One Suite of System Care Tools to Clean, Optimize and Secure Windows(R) PCs
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., June 6, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Support.com (Nasdaq:SPRT) today announced the release of Cosmos™ System Care, an all-in-one suite of the latest tools PC users will need to help clean, optimize and secure Windows® PCs in just a few clicks. Cosmos, which comes in free and professional editions, is wrapped in a simple dashboard that gives users access to more than twenty tools and utilities that keep PCs free of the common "debris" that accumulate over time and help users keep their information safe and secure.
Debris or junk files left behind by untidy programs, computer usage, hard drive fragmentation, installed software, and many other issues, can slow down system performance. Cosmos helps consumers easily address these common issues, and other important functions that may be avoided such as local data back-up or recovery of data and files.
Cosmos tools are conveniently organized into Security and Privacy, Backup and Recovery, Disk Optimizers, Windows Optimizers, Registry Optimizers and Other Utilities–which includes things like optimizing PC start-up or scheduling security and maintenance scans.
Typical functions that Cosmos performs include cleaning and defragmenting the hard drive and Windows Registry, optimizing disk space by clearing unnecessary files, removing duplicates, and rearranging frequently used and large files. In addition to the wide range of optimization tools available, Cosmos also offers plenty of options for securing and protecting information stored on PCs.
Cosmos begins with a preliminary scan that is started by clicking "Start One-Click-Checkup" on the splash screen; this then brings the user to the main Cosmos dashboard, which includes a more in-depth PC Health Screen and Tool Selection from which the user may access all the tools Cosmos has to offer.
Priced at $49.95 per year for the Professional Edition, Cosmos also includes a year of software support provided by Support.com® Personal Technology Experts®. Cosmos Professional Edition is available on www.support.com, CNET Downloads, and through partners worldwide.
"Consumers should without fear be able to take control of their PC's health and performance, just like they would with their car. With a few clicks and regular scans, Cosmos offers consumers a simple, yet elegant way to protect one of the most valuable assets they have, with all the tools they need in one convenient space," said Support.com CEO Josh Pickus.
